Alexander McQueen's Final Show

- Stephan Lochner

I thought this collection was very close to me, because I am very inspired by rococo/baroque styles of renaissance period, I like the ritzy, royal, luxurious feel to it. In his final collection consisting of 16 designs can be seen an inspiration from works of renaissance artists; Jean Fouquet, Sandro Boticelli, Stephan Lochner, Hans Memling, Hugo van der Goes and Hieronymus Bosch.

Boris Kustoviev- Shrovitide

A beautiful painting from 1916, old Russia in the snow- on the pancake day (pancake day is a big tradition in Russia, there are varies activities that people are used to doing, such as a public burning of a hay dummy, dancing and sledging). I absolutely love the colours in this painting- soft pink and blue sky mixed with the whiteness of the snow gives the sense of late, clear-sky afternoon, and overall atmosphere is very relaxed yet excited.

This a video I made in 2008, it is a mascara advert to Tes La Rock (dubstep)

Hip Hop Russian Doll

This is my baby, it is about a meter tall, and a meter wide, it was made of wire, mud rock and plaster, then decorated in Russian kholoma style (black, red and gold), however it has a hip hop twist to it - the face is animated to fit the urban graffiti styles, she has a cleavage and wearing a cross (which could mean both- folk Russian or hip hop?) On one side it is decorated with silhouettes of Russian historical architecture and it has a girl dancing whilst wearing a long dress, on another it has silhouettes of modern urban buildings and an image of a DJ. On the back it says DOLL in graffiti style.
